Function of inclined bumpers in toilet seats

We have already seen in the post ”Sanitary wares with a sloping step top and their toilet seats with shaped bumpers”, that there are sanitary ware that have a step on the upper surface and therefore need toilet seats with shaped rubbers so that they fit perfectly inside and keep the toilet seat in place. We have seen that they are for the: Sintesi by Cesame, Clodia by Dolomite, Astro by Eos ceramiche e Selecta by Hatria. In addition to these sanitary ware with a step, there are also those which, although having a smooth upper surface, have a slight inclination and the normal bumpers slide to the right or left. In this case the rubbers are not shaped but inclined in such a way as to give the greatest stability and strength to the toilet seat.

Another typical case where inclined bumpers are needed can be seen in this Flaminia sanitary ware: Relax series. From the picture you can see that the upper surface is completely round and the support point is minimal. In order to avoid sideways slipping, the original toilet seat is fitted with shaped bumpers and mainly with a fixed hinge.
