Wall-hung sanitary ware and their cover seats

Wall-hung sanitary ware and their cover seats (part 1)

  Postato da:

Toilet seat covers for wall-hung sanitary ware

With this post we start to look at some wall-hung sanitary ware and their toilet covers. We will see when they started to make their appearance in the bathroom furniture world.

ALA series by Ideal Standard

This sanitary ware is the benchmark for all suspended series, the spread of suspended sanitary ware in bathrooms started here: Ideal Standard‘s Suspended Ala. There had been some previous attempts by the same company (which we will see later), but, perhaps, the technical requirements were missing (the structures for the installation – called combifix – for the suspended toilets that we have today had not yet been made by the various companies: Geberit, Valsir, Kariba, …) and the realization by the plumbers were difficult, so it was necessary to wait for this combination of factors to make this type of sanitary an element that today we consider normal in the bathrooms. Ala was introduced in the ’80s and remained in the Ideal Standard catalogue until the early 2000s. At that time it was synonymous with modernity in the bathroom. It was presented with a very particular and unique toilet cover, the upper part (the cover) was narrower than the lower part (donut) and according to us it served to lighten the profile of the toilet and have a lightness and a “suspended” effect even more marked. We are still able to offer you the old original Ala toilet seat and you can find it in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

MONVAS/SOVAS series by Ideal Standard

Qui parliamo di un sanitario degli anni ‘60 e ‘70. Era un wc molto grande di cui avremmo potuto parlarne nel post: “Large sanitaryware and their toilet seat covers”, we look at it here precisely because it is a suspended toilet. It was a line of sanitary ware that we can consider in line with current, minimalist style. Only the dimensions are old-fashioned. To give you an idea of its size, its toilet seat was 49/50 cm long! You can find his toilet seat in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

LINK series by Flaminia

In the late ’90s and early 2000s, wall-hung sanitary ware began to be considered a ‘normal’ choice. It was the right time for a formal acceleration. The market was accustomed to all the same, rather rough shapes. Until then, the fact that a sanitary ware was suspended was enough to qualify it as modern. Flaminia understood the need for new shapes and styles and presented Link. And it was a masterpiece! They are still among the most beautiful wall-hung sanitary ware in the bathroom world. It was also the first series of sanitary ware that was first presented suspended, then, given its success, integrated with the floor-standing series. The toilet seats for these sanitary ware are available in all its variants (original wrap-around, original wrap-around soft-close, in polyester-coated wood and the various dedicated versions) at the following link [ clik HERE ]. We also made a video about this series and its toilet seat cover:

Serie ZERO ceramica Catalano (ZERO 54 è diverso da ZERO 50/55)ZERO series by Ceramica Catalano (ZERO 54 is differnt from ZERO 50/55)

It has always been considered Link‘s first rival. It is produced by Catalano and initially in the version called Zero 54 had a back step and the toilet seat had a wheelbase of 18 cm. In the more recent versions, called Zero 50/55, the back step has been eliminated, the frontal band has been reduced and above all the wheelbase has been brought to 22 cm (we could have talked about it in the post about the strange wheelbase of the toilet seats). A clarification before closing this post. Most wall-hung WCs always have a ground/floor version (with some exceptions, an example is the Ala series seen at the start of this post). Most of the time the toilet seat cover is the same for both versions (with some exceptions), in any case to avoid mistakes in buying the right toilet seat cover for your wall-hung toilet just send us an email to info@sintesibagno.it or a WhatsApp message to 3341288978 with two pictures of your toilet seat and a few measurements and we will be able to help you in your choice. Here the video on how to proceed in the search of the toilet seat:
