Today we are going to look at series of sanitary ware that we consider unique shapes that are difficult to imitate. We have already seen in other posts, that often a ceramic manufacturer creates a shape and the others behind to imitate, modifying proportions and measurements, and the series of sanitaryware is presented to the market. The series we see in this post could easily have played the role of pioneers of a style, but for a number of reasons (practical handicraft/production difficulties; the competition can’t do certain jobs or were distracted in other projects) remained unique. They have all become part of the history of bathroom furniture and best sellers of the time in which they were produced. We will see the
Muse series by
Catalano ceramics, the
Fiorile series by
Ideal Standard and the
Memory series by
Hidra ceramics.
MUSE series by Ceramica Catalano
A series of sanitary ware proposed by
Ceramica Catalano in the early 2000s. Looking at these sanitaryware you have the sensation of softness, reminiscent of a white sheet animated by sea breezes. You get the sensation of something capable of embracing you without touching you. To create this shape,
Catalano‘s master ceramists have combined history and production technology. The original
Muse toilet seat is still available in the store. [

We specify the
OVAL shape, because the
Fiorile sanitary ware was initially presented in this way. In later years the suspended series and the flush-to-wall version of the WC were added. In these cases, while maintaining the “
Fiorile” profile of the first version, the straight cut back takes away some of the charm and lightness. Even the toilet seat covers are no longer ovals and are therefore different, be careful when buying (if the toilet is wall-hung or flush with the wall, the toilet seat cover is called Lusso and needs an expansion hinge to be fixed from above (to avoid mistakes we have created a category just for these models and you can find it at the following link [

Fiorile (Oval) version will be in a different category and you will find its toilet seat
46 cm long [

The Fiorile series is one of the Ideal Standard series that has been produced in the two whites mentioned in the Post: “
White as white can be! So, why is whithe different in Ideal standard sanitaryware?”, where we explain the difference between Ideal Standard white and European white.
MEMORY series by Hidra Ceramica
We consider it the retro version of
Fiorile. Very refined and with great attention to details. It is the
Memory series by
Hidra. It is considered a large toilet bowl and therefore requires a very long toilet seat with a size of
47/
48 cm. You can find it in the store at the following link [

We have started to see some sanitary ware that have particular shapes that we do not find in any other series. Precisely in these situations it is important to find the original toilet seat or, if it is not available, at least to look for the dedicated version. If you can’t find it or don’t know what to look for among the thousands of toilet seats in circulation, ask us for help. Simply send us an email to
info@sintesibagno.it or a
WhatsApp message to
