The old Ceramica Dolomite series and their toilet seats

The old Ceramica Dolomite series and their toilet seats

  Postato da:

Dolomite toilet seat covers

There are many customers who need to replace their Dolomite toilet seats! In this post we want to talk about the most famous series of this ceramic company that have been very popular in the bathroom market. Ceramica Dolomite in the 80s and 90s became known to the general public and became a top player in the sector. With Dolomite sanitary ware we will go through all the categories of shapes, sizes of sanitary ceramics.

Serie CLODIA Dolomite e il suo scalinoCLODIA Series Dolomite and its step

With this series designed by Antonio Bullo, Ceramica Dolomite challenges the successful series of the time: Sintesi Cesame series and Tesi Ideal Standard series. The peculiarity of Clodia is the top with the step, we have talked about it in a post where we explain the importance of a toilet seat with step/shaped rubber bumpers. [ clik HERE ]. We also made a video to show you the Clodia toilet and its seat cover (the original seat can be found in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]).

RIO and FLEO series. The rectangular shape as per Dolomite

Copriwater RioRio was Dolomite‘s mid to high range series. Designed by the architect Giorgina Castiglioni, it was an attempt to enter (successfully) the market sector of Conca and sanitary ware with rectangular shape by Ceramica Dolomite. An important sanitary ware, its square shape with wide curved corners set the example in the sector. It was produced in white, champagne, grey and green and the toilet seats are all available in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

Those who, due to economic choices, did not want Rio in the bathroom, if they wanted to stay on the same ceramic house chose: Fleo. Smaller and more essential, it was a minimal, rectangular shape that was very popular. In the years following its presentation many other ceramic series were inspired by its shape. The original black and white toilet seat cover is available in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

EBLA Ceramica Dolomite Series (the pure rectangular shape)

The rectangular style of Dolomite sanitary ware we have just seen is marked by rounded corners. With Ebla the top is the first example of a rectangle with almost 90° angles, but the body itself is also made with markedly square geometric cuts. Here are the links to the Dolomite section in our shop where you can easily find spare parts for the Ebla model! [ clik HERE ]

The series and their straight toilet seats by Dolomite: Old Pearl and Sweet Life

We have seen in the post: “WCs and bidets strait. Mesurements less then 35 cm in width. What are the toilet seat covers for these toilets?”, that since the ’80s years we have seen, partly due to design requirements (in new flats the size of the bathroom has been reduced), partly due to the evolution of aesthetic trends (people are starting to look for minimal shapes), a reduction in the width of sanitary ware. We are beginning to see widths of 36, 35 and 34 cm. Dolomite also presented two series, diametrically opposed: the Perla series and, years later, the Sweet Life series.Perla vecchio

Let’s look at Perla. It was always considered the only competitor of Ellisse in the 80s and 90s. It was called Perla series (nowadays looked up as Perla Classic or old because Dolomite made a second version called Perla New). Width 34.4/34.5 cm like its competitor from which it differs more than anything else in the upper level which is thinner. Even this toilet seat, with the same dimensions, differs in shape and in some details compared to Ellisse. The original toilet seat, which is identical in shape to the Ellisse, differs in the front bumpers. If you are looking for the old original product you can find it in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

Sweet LifeCompletely changing shape and age, we now see the Sweet Life series by Dolomite ceramics. An almost triangular shape with a width of 34/35 cm. It is a series of sanitary ware with a modern design, presented at the end of the 90s by the Venetian ceramics company which, in terms of style, with a few structural changes (for example the fixing system in the suspended series where you can see the bolts, not concealed), could easily compete with the sanitary ware series of today. The original Sweet Life thermoset toilet seat cover sold out in 2017! A white coated wood variant has now been launched, which you can find in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

Serie Epoca Dolomite, forse il primo vaso con piano inclinatoEpoca Dolomite series, perhaps the first toilet bowl with an inclined top

Both private customers and those in the bathroom furnishing sector are convinced that the idea of the rear inclined plane in sanitary ware was introduced by Ideal Standard with the Conca series (we have talked about it in this post [ clik HERE ]),on the other hand, Epoca was the first series to offer this stylistic feature back in the 60s and 70s. A series of sanitary ware that had a good success. Also the Epoca toilet seat can be found in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

Dolomite’s classic/retro sanitaryware: ANTALIA series, the perfect 8-format!Il sanitario classic/retrò di Dolomite: serie ANTALIA la froma a 8 perfetta!

In the post on: “Classic Retrò English-style sanitaryware and their toilet seat covers (1st part )” we have seen that Classic/Retro/Old England style sanitary ware is a symbol of style and class in bathroom design. They are the sanitary ware that recalls the charm of the past and the Parisian Belle Epoque. In this category we certainly find the Antalia series by Dolomite, which became a legend in the ’90s, and was discontinued a few years ago, but is still current and an unmistakable icon of classic style. It was available in a version of the monobloc WC with a ceramic cistern resting on it and a version with a cistern built into the wall. Its original toilet seat with its characteristic 8-shaped design is clearly available in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]
We started to see some Dolomite sanitary ware series and their toilet seat covers. If you have to replace the Dolomite toilet seat cover, but you don’t recognize the series in your bathroom, ask us how to recognize the toilet seat. Just two pictures, a few measurements and the Sintesibagno staff will suggest the right toilet seat cover!
